Swim
Comments: Longest race swim distance yet. Felt pretty good and finished with a better time then predicted. I did fight anxiety over the distance for a good portion of the swim but really didn't impact the swim as I just tried to keep the arms churning. Hopefully one day the confidence will be there and this won't an issue. What would you do differently?: Better navigation. Navigation was difficult because the goggles fogged up and really couldn't see much. But getting better at navigating is something to work on for next season. Transition 1
What would you do differently?: I don't think any one thing slowed me down a lot, just probably losing a second here or there on things like the taking off the wetsuit and the jersey rolling up when putting it on Bike
Comments: I was expecting a flat course so the time is slower then I thought it would be. Felt really good on the flat and wasable to kep spped up over 20MPH but the hills made an impact. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Tried to keep pushing the entire ride. Transition 2
Comments: Not much more I am going to do to spped this up any. Run
Comments: This is where the longer distance took it's toll. Had wanted to keep around 9 min/mile pace but was just not able to do it. What would you do differently?: Even though I am dissapointed with the time, I am happy that I was able to complete the Olympic distance with virtually no walking (in/out of aid stations). Post race
Warm down: Walked around, waited for Mike to finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: I have to believe being sick the week leading up to the race. I was hopeing 10 months of traning would make up for 1 week of sickness and I actually felt much better the morning of the race. I did notice breathing (weezing) during the swim but other then that I didn't notice any effects of being sick. I would have prefered coming in the last week with no sickness and getting workouts in but I must say I am pretty happy overall last 10 months since starting on training. Event comments: Was dissapointed there were not any drinks at the end of the race. Fortunatly there were plents of drinking faucets. Was also a little dissapointed some of the vendors were already leaving so soon after the race as I would have liked to have checked some of them out but seemed like they were already packing up when I got done with the race.
