Pre-race routine:

Not much here. Got up, raced to get the dogs to the groomers, stopped at Starbucks for a muffin and Chai Latte (I know, but I needed something), and sped all the way to the race site. Luckily there was a gas station close at hand after the race.
Event warmup:

Does an easy jog back and forth to the car count?

What would you do differently?:

Get there earlier to warm up a bit more. Perhaps have a better look at the course BEFORE running it.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretched and sort of sat around waiting for the awards ceremony.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Heat, wind, and more hills then I expected. I think that I need to practice on the hills a bit more.

Event comments:

There was only one water station, but that is to be expected with a short race. It was place so that runners would hit it twice, but I think that the four people manning the station was just a little overwhelmed with 950 participants. By the time I got to the station on the way back they were just starting to realise they were getting hit on two fronts.

Course: The course was not easy for someone used to running fairly flat terrain. Most of the course was either up a hill or down a hill. Temprature and wind did not make matter any easier. They warned that the course was narrow, but I think that the runners just took over the whole side of the road which made it a lot easier.
