Swim
Comments: Interesting swim, since it was at the end and in a serpentine pattern. It was pretty chaotic in the pool and I figured since it was such a short swim it would be not problem, but I died at the end. After all the exertion of running and the bike I wasn't prepared for the end. What would you do differently?: Save a bit more energy. Transition 1
Comments: This was the transition from Run to Bike. I got in quickly and got my stuff off and on pretty quickly. What would you do differently?: Not much Bike
Comments: Since I've had the modifications done to my bike, I haven't really done to much riding on it (feel free to insert the word slacking there.....). For me to ride this pace with the headwinds and crosswinds, quite frankly I'm amazed. Although I will tell you that about 10 minutes after the race I started to feel it...... What would you do differently?: Nothing really, except to get more training in before hand to perhaps get faster.... Transition 2
Comments: This was the transition from Bike to Swim. I came in quickly, racked and then got my gear off quickly, grabbed my goggles and ran the 100+ yards to the pool. What would you do differently?: Nothing really. Run
Comments: I was raring to go and got caught up in the moment and ended up starting out way to fast. I settled in after a while and ended up running my fastest 5k ever. After about 10 minutes I had to take off the running top and then soon pushed down my sleeves and then removed those as well. What would you do differently?: Start out a bit more in control and leave the extra clothing behind. Post race
Warm down: After I got out of the pool and got my medal I went back to transition and grabbed my towel as it was chilly. I changed and got warm as quick as possible and did some light stretching. I probably should have stretched a bit more. Drank some water and ate another bar. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not enough training and being sick for the previous week. Event comments: It was a fun race and one that I would definitely recommend to a begginer. I'd do it again. Last updated: 2006-10-02 12:00 AM

Woke at 5:30 and drove out to the race. I ate a ProMax bar and had a bottle of water.
Set up my area and tried to stay warm as I was there over an hour before the race started. I ran about a 1/2 a mile and couldn't figure out what to wear since it was so cold. I had on my tri shorts with some tights over it and then I had on my tri top with my removable sleeves and then a light running shirt over that. I ended up ditching the tights right before the race started.
