drive to fla from nc don't sleep at all have cool weather clothes for a hot weather race..

What would you do differently?:

not go out wide for the scenic route..i would stay in close and battle it out...the first loop i think i added 600 yds..second loop i hung tight to the buoys

not spend so much time in the changing tent/ breakffast bar..

i was not prepared for (flat florida) i still can't believe there were hills in florida
What would you do differently?:

bring my road bike.. i dislocated my shoulder 3 1/2 months ago and time in the drops on my tri bike took a toll...i also brought a disk wheel(stupid) wind was pushing me all over..also the big trucks.. my gearing was off i had an 11/23 in the back(stupid) the bike is usually good to me..

had to sit after the bike cause i was delirious while some nice folks gave me bananas and various stuff to bring me back to reality...that sit turned into 40 some min. i then regained enough composure to start the old man shuffle. i should have put dry socks in my run special needs bag for halfway cause wet socks brought the blood from my feet in a big way it was all i could do to finish....
What would you do differently?:

eat more on the bike
