Swim
Comments: a bad start indeed. just didn't feel ready for the swim and the weather kind of threw me off a bit. What would you do differently?: train more for the last three weeks of training. Transition 1
Comments: quite slow in T1 as I really felt like I needed a minute to recover. What would you do differently?: be more prepared for cold weather racing. Bike
Comments: I felt like it took forever for my legs to warm up enough to keep a decent speed and cadence. At ten miles into the bike, my legs still felt shaky and weak. Transition 2
Comments: decent speed through this transition. Run
Comments: I was just a bit burned out for the run leg. My only real motivation was that I was tired of the crappy weather and ready to get the race over with. I had a 7 minute pace in me on a flat course, but the lack of hill training was noticeable. I had to slow up a lot toward the end b/c i was feeling like i was going to lose my stomach. What would you do differently?: increase my run training amount, even if at a much slower pace. Post race
Warm down: limited stretching and some food. OK, one cold beer. Event comments: a very good race, but just not my kind of tri weather. i like it a bit warmer. Last updated: 2006-10-09 12:00 AM

Twas the night before a dreary day... not a good night sleep b/c I had to get up at 3:30 and get ready to leave at 4 AM with George at the wheel. I ate my customary fig newton and drank a gatorade two hours prior to race start.
It was quite cold outside so i could not really warm up as I usually do. jogged ~ 1 mile.
