Comments:

This was going to be my long slow run for the weekend. I was planning on staying at 9:30-10 min/mile pace and see if Nate, A and Taco would hang with me. So it started out right on plan.
mile 1: 10.10
mile 2 & 3: 18.51
now this is were I felt good and took the free speed on the downhill
mile 4: 7.54
mile 5: 8.10
mile 6 & 7: 16.09 (passed the captain here and he looked strong)
mile 8: 8.04
mile 9: 8.04
mile 10: 8.13
mile 11: 8.24
mile 12: 8.02
mile 13 & .1: 9.13

felt really good the whole time I was running in the 8s. amazed that i was as consistant as I was for the splits. finished with a nice sprint in.
What would you do differently?:

train for racing a 1/2 mary.
Post race
Warm down:

walked around, stretched, met up with other BTers (Polly, Chris, Dan, Rob, Merideth). changed out of wet top and waited for a, taco and nate. then walked over to food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

training, calf injury in aug, sept.

Event comments:

this was a nice setup. not as much music on course and they were saying. and the course is not that pretty of a course. it would be nice if they could send the run into west hartford or wethersfield.

Performance: Good
Course: From the website: "The Half -Marathon is also a two loop course and travels on the same roads as the Marathon. The entire course is flat and fast. The last 4 miles of the half marathon are full of entertainment and surprises!" Really: the course takes you from downtown over a bridge to east hartford. then turns you around right after mile 4 to head back to hartford. then a little bit along the river/highway in east hartford before heading back over bridge to hartford. then you take a loop around the colt building and finally head back to bushnell park.
