Pre-race routine:

Woke up about 4:45 am. Met up with friends at 6 am after eating a protein bar (not a good early morning eater). Walked bike about .5 mile to transition are as warm up to stretch legs.

Did not swim because I didn't want to ride wet - I have had a cough for about 3 weeks and didn't want it another 3 weeks - Time is estimated by race committee for final time/results

Found run difficult especially since I have been sick for past 3 weeks with cough -- no running for over a month -- getting through plantar fascitis.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Have been sick for past 3 weeks and did not training for over a month prior to race - considred dropping out of race, but decided to do the bike and run (skipped swim to stay dry).

Event comments:

Great Race. Close to home and always friendly to new athletes. Felt comfortable racing despite being sick and knowing performance would not be great.
