Comments:

I messed up way too much on this. 1 mile in, with the lead pack, I went the wrong way and lost a good minute or so. Making the turn caused me to lose big time and momentum. Also, I didn't tie my shoes well enough, so I lost my timing chip once (had to stop to retie laces), but then my laces came undone again so I just said I'd tie it double knot (which I did). All of this threw off my pacing and rhythm so I knew I had no chance at breaking 1 hour. Oh well.
What would you do differently?:

I would take a look at the course map and maybe jog the course a bit. I would double tie my shoelaces and make sure they didn't slip.
Post race
Warm down:

A little jog to the Krispy Kreme tent.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Logistical issues and incompetent volunteers.

Event comments:

I think that a little bit needs to be done to make sure that the 10 mile runners and the marathon runners know where and when they separate. While the organization of the race in general was really smooth, the actual "racing" and course-related organization was pretty bad. Overall, this was a great race on a beautiful fall day.

Course: Flat and very fast. They did a terrible job marking the turnaround points. I always got mixed up with the marathoners.
