Comments: Damn, Aussies are fast in the water! I set a personal best for the 750m (just over 14 minutes according to my watch), and I still came in dead last in my heat. By over 2 minutes. Brutal. What would you do differently?: Hold onto the heels of the guy in front of me! ![]() Transition 1

Comments: The bike leg is what killed my overall time. I was riding a borrowed bike that was simply too small for me - I couldn't get the seat up high enough, and the bars were way too low. Overall I was about 8 minutes slower than I should have been over the 20km course. (8 minutes would have put my in the middle of the pack, where I normally am, instead of way at the end!) ![]() Transition 2

Comments: Wow, was I really this fast? My run seemed so slow - everyone was passing me! Looking back, that's probably because a couple of faster heats started after mine. 1:40 off of my personal best for a 5k, but still my best 5k time in a triathlon. What would you do differently?: Run faster! I was really dogging it on the run, I could have easily shaved off another minute. ![]() Post race
