Run
Comments: About five minutes before the start the sun came out so I decided to ditch my sweat pants and run in shorts, gloves, and a long sleeve shirt. About 30 seconds before the gun went off the sun went, permanently, behind the clouds. So I was a little cold on the run. Live and learn. Besides being a little code, it was a very uneventful run. Main goal was to run consistent splits at right around 8 minute miles. Accomplished that with flying colors. What would you do differently?: Nothing, this was a new PR for me, blowing away my old PR by 1:40. Post race
Warm down: Grabbed a cookie and jogged back to the truck to get my warmups back on (I was freezing). Walked back down to the finish had some water and a couple of bannanas and then called it a day. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing, this was a new PR. Might have been able to go a little faster had I not been on vacation (no running) for two out of the three weeks before the race. Event comments: Still a good race. The post race food and drink seemed to be a little better last year. Last updated: 2006-11-10 12:00 AM

Mainly stayed in the truck trying to stay warm. Cheered on the women's 5k which took place before the 10k. Tried to decide how many layers of clothes to wear.
About a mile of very easy jogging, a few drills, and quite a bit of stretching.
