Run
Comments: Felt good throughout the run. Start was a little rough getting through the pack and climbing the only hill on the course. Was a little concerned about HR, but figured I could push into the 170s (180s!) and not fade too hard. The weather was perfect, although the only headwind was on the last 2 mile straight towards the finish. What would you do differently?: I could have pushed it a little harder towards the end. Everything went as planned, I think. It was my 1st 10k and I was shooting for a 53:00, so things went well. Post race
Warm down: Not much, found some food and water. What limited your ability to perform faster: Not much, maybe 10k training. Usually my long runs are in the 4-5 mile range. Event comments: Well put together event. Lots of people! Plenty of pre and post race food/drink with several live bands along the course. I thought having belly dancers at the finish line was a little weird, but thats ok! Looking forward to next year's event. Last updated: 2006-11-10 12:00 AM

Up at a leisurly 6am for some toast and water, back to bed until 7. Left the house at 7:30, got to the race site and parked by 8.
Ran around a little, found a POP and stretched a little. Squeezed my way into the start line, maybe a few hundred people back.
