Run
Comments: I was freezing at the start, but warmed up during the race. I never took my long sleeve shirt off though. It was about this cold for the start of the trail half that I did four days prior, but I wound up taking off my shirt about 3 miles in. This one stayed cold. I never really ran hard, just stayed comfortable, made sure my breathing stayed steady, three steps per inhale, three steps per exhale. I can stay in Zone 2 with that breathing scheme. If I go to two steps on either one or both, I know I'm running hard. The race seemed to go by quickly, I talked to a few people along the way. It was a nice comfortable pace and I really enjoyed the race. The only thing that threw me was that I had gotten used to the timers at each mile marker, but there was no timer at mile 9, 11, or 12. So I wasn't sure how I was doing in the last parts of the race. But when I saw the timer at mile 10, I figured I could PR if I could just keep up the pace I was running. Didn't really run it for a PR, but figured it'd be nice to do so. Came around the last corner and saw the magic number! PR'ed by over 2 minutes. What would you do differently?: Nothing at all. Post race
Warm down: Had some water, got my finisher's mug and went back to the car. What limited your ability to perform faster: Nothing. Event comments: Fun, inexpensive, and organized. Definitely would do it again, but chances are next Thanksgiving I'll be somewhere other than Jacksonville. Last updated: 2006-11-20 12:00 AM

WARMUP? Nope. It was freezing. I just walked around trying to find crowds I could hide from the wind in.
