Kind of a long drive- but I wanted to a do a runa d I wanted to do a 10K ...and I heard this was fun so there I was. I picked up my cousin from IL- whom I hardly ever see and is up here to coach me in my swimming (YEAH!!! a free swim coach!!!) so I decided to make him run with me.
Event warmup:

No warm up- probaly should have. I had a cookie instead :) yum (it IS thanksgiving!)

Comments:

A great day to run- especially for November. Well... I tend to think I am Mrs speedy runner, so I start with all the fast girls- I did first mile 6:49. second 14:44 my half way split was 21:49.... if I could only hold that for the rest of the race I would then be considered fast... but no- I slowly slowed down. Oh well a 7:39 min mile pace is pretty good for me.
There were lots of hills too- more on the way in then the way out too- ugh.
A very fun race- huge turn out which was very cool.
AG- 10th out of 64... top ten is always good. 37th out of 378 females
What would you do differently?:

Learn to pace myself.
Post race
Warm down:

walked to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

nothing- I just need to run more I guess. For my first 10K- I did OK- always room for improvement.

Event comments:

Lots of volunteers- lots of pre race hype- lots of food and drink. And kinda cool shirts... "The thanksgiving day parade... only faster"
