Pre-race routine:

Up two hours early to eat oatmeal with raisins, a banana, and some yogurt. Pre-med with my beloved albuterol, drove over to the nearby high school.
Event warmup:

Walked from the car to the start line, jogged a little bit, and then stood around to talk with my aunt and uncle. My uncle runs races, and my aunt is our personal race crew/photographer.

Comments:

Ran just this side of too hard; i know my heart rate would have been high, but it was good. After all my easy running, it felt good to move a little faster. i ran surprisingly fast, actually; perhaps there is something to this base running concept after all...?
What would you do differently?:

i think i ran this just about right. i should have sprinted, though. i let some woman edge me out, bah.
Post race
Warm down:

i am horrible about warm downs and don't do them. Basically, i just wandered down to the community center to get some food.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Lack of training.

Event comments:

Apparently 200 people ran the race last year, so when over six hundred showed up today, they were a little overwhelmed. Things went smoothly anyway, though!
