Pre-race routine:

Shook off last night’s hangover. Ya, a tasty pre race dinner at Barolo was not only delicious but intoxicating…
Had a Oatmeal snack bar and a Snicker’s Marathon bar for breakfast chased with a bottle of e-Caps mixed drink.

Event warmup:

Are you kidding me, pre-race warm up? It was in high 30s/low 40s before the race. I clung to my space blanket shivering and seeking shelter from the rain where ever I could find it under some out cropping of the Experience Music Project Building.

Comments:

I signed up for this race on a whim from my wife (aka she talked me into it). I think that she mostly wanted a night's stay in a nice Hotel in Seattle and lots of shopping downtown yesterday!

I'm traing for IMAZ, so my run volume lately has been sufficient to take a crack at a Marathon.
What would you do differently?:

Oh, that would be a lot of things!
Train for it, I've done zero marathon specific training.
Tapper, I ran 18.5 miles last weekend which incuded 8.5 miles of a step trail run. Not the smartest thing to do a week before a Marathon
Not carbo load the night before with Beer and Wine... Pepcid AC is a good thing!
Post race
Warm down:

Grabbed a Venti Mocha! An walked/ran my back to our hotel about 3 miles away (I could not be bothered to try and catch a shuttle or a cab).

Sat in a bath for while and then caught the last hour of hotel's brunch Buffet! Not sure they've seen a skinny dude eat that much before.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Alcohol
Lack of training

I also did not eat much on the run, in total I had 3 Gels and 4 off those little cups of watered down Gataoraide. I did drink a cup of water at most of the aid stations.

Event comments:

This was my 1st some what serious attempt at a stand alone marathon. For the week before hand we had a standing joke on this was my "how not to train for a marathon marathon" since it was a last minute deal. I've IMC a couple of times and the Honolullu Marathon once (this was not a good race at all, I ran with a slower group for the first 10 miles, and was just stuck in sheer volume of runners for the rest of the race).

Overall I'm happy with my results, I figured I could have gone 10 mins faster with a bit more prep

Performance: Average
I think that my average HR was around 160. For the first couple of miles it was determined that my HR was over 200 and then my strap keep slipping down my chest. Around mile 3 I gave up on it and just pulled it down around my waist. In the first I-90 tunnel I managed to unzip my jacket and keep the strap up and working. From there on I was right around 160.
