Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 3 AM and took a hot shower. All my stuff was already in the car and so I served myself a cup of coffee and off I was.

Picked up the Bitches all over town and found a CHOICE parking spot on SE 1 Street and 3rd Avenue- Bank of America Tower.
Event warmup:

Walked a few blocks from the Car to the holding Pen. Really no other warm up.
Run
  • 2h 15m 30s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 20s  min/mile
Comments:

I missed my target goal by 30 seconds. Sad thing is that I had the juice to make it but I started the final sprint too late in the chute.

AMAZING feeling running inside of 12,000 people and fans everywhere making noise. The crowd was amazing.
What would you do differently?:

Start the finish line dash sooner.
Post race
Warm down:

Walked around, ate a bagel and a banana.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

20 extra pounds of weight. A slight pain under the laces of my left foot and definitely water, rain and flooding ans soggy feet all morning.

Event comments:

Running is the foundation of this sport. I enjoy it more and more every day. Today marks the day before the start of a 16 week training course leading up to Disney Ironman 70.3. I must admit that I am going into this training far ahead of last year.

BIG, NO! HUGE Congrats to all my friends that ran today.

Frank C, Rafa, Jocy, Ivanka, Alfred M, THE RAMSTER, R2, Tere, Thamia, The Wizard, Capt Dirk, Magnus, JAYdog aka "The Memphis Belle" G, Marcella.

Cheers and Luck in 2007 to all.
