Run
Comments: Did not start out too well. HR monitor strap came off at mile 1. Was having difficulty finding a good pace and felt rather sluggish. My goal was 1h30m, but at about mile 4 I did not think that I had it in me today. I picked up the heels of two ladies and did my best to hang with them. They were knocking some time off my pace from the hole I had dug for myself. By mile 10, the deficit was gone and the nice ladies fell off. I started to feel good for the homestretch and made my goal. What would you do differently?: Ensure that my HR strap fit properly. Post race
Warm down: Walk for 10 minutes. Very cold outside. After I found my family and the huge banner that they made for me, I changed into some dry clothes. I selected my clothing well today: shorts, technical long sleeve shirt x 2, arm warmers, running vest, gloves, and headband. What limited your ability to perform faster: No HR data for feedback. Event comments: Great organization and most excellent support staff Last updated: 2006-12-07 12:00 AM

0500 wakeup. Breakfast: instant oatmeal, banana, one serving carbo-pro, water. Shower, drive to race venue.
Stretch and one mile easy jog. Would have liked to run more, but ran out of time.
