Comments:

Run felt good. Was the first long run since spraining my ankle back in December. The hills were very difficult, so I walked them. Figured I could walk them just as fast as I could run them, and by walking, save a bit of energy at the same time. Seemed to work.

Spent the first 4 miles staring at the back of Alex's head. Finally passed her at the 4-mile mark and mentally focused to stay ahead of her for the remainder of the race. Yeah, I know, no pride in beating an 11-year-old, but since she's as good of a runner as I am, it still felt good. Besides, she's got youth on her side. :)
What would you do differently?:

Not much. Train more, I guess. Not be afraid of hills, so much. Maybe more hills in my training...
Post race
Warm down:

Walked to the car, got my water. Hung out and waited for Alex to finish.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not having the mental confidence that I CAN do it.

Event comments:

Another good run by DRC, with lots of friendly faces. Will do this again next year for sure!!
