Run
Comments: Wow! It was cold! I wasn't sure about pace, but at about mile 3 I found I was right with another woman who looked about my age and size, so I just tried to stay with her. She pushed me hard, but I managed to stay with her. She beat me by 20 seconds. She was training for a marathon and I am proud that I could hang with her as long as I did. I didn't have much left in me for a final sprint. But I felt OK with that. I wanted to leave it on the course and not save energy for the final sprint. What would you do differently?: The last few miles were the hardest! I was cold and sweaty. I could have used a warmer core layer. I should have pushed a little harder in the first mile. It was a big race and in that first mile, tons of people were passing me and I ws passing tons of people. I find it hard to find a pace in that situation. When I saw my time at mile 1, I knew I could do better than that. Post race
Warm down: Go inside to warm up! Eat pizza and drink hot coffee. What limited your ability to perform faster: Me. Event comments: A very nice race! A large turnout of friendly people. Last updated: 2006-12-22 12:00 AM

It was cold and windy! I fretted about what to wear. I put layers on and then took them off. I ended up going with fewer layers than I originally planned.
Try to stay inside and warm as long as possible. Then jog around for about 10 minutes in the starting area.
