Pre-race routine:

Didn't get much Sleep. My Fans were making too much noise and I only slept like 3 hours. Had a Clif Mojo and some Gatorade about 1:30 before the race.

I have not been very active during the Holidays and I also got the Flu twice in 3 weeks. So it was kinda hard training.

I went in just to do finish I was not forcing the pace except for the bike leg.
Event warmup:

Ran around 15 minutes prior to the race

  • 02m 03s / 100 meters
Comments:

The Swim was not bad just average I did not press the pace just swam normal.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing I was just getting back inthe groove of things
Transition 1
  • 01m 45s
Comments:

THe transition was about 300m from the pool. you had to get out of the pool and cross a baseball field.

I ran to the bike ad everything went well. I am able to leave the shoes clipped on the bike and go. Overall a very good transition.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 34m
  • 3.11 miles
  • 10m 56s  min/mile
Comments:

I really jogged this leg... I have not been running due to the flu so I just paced myself and took it easy I finished strong with the last lap at a 8:00 mile pace..the rest I would love to forget. :-)
What would you do differently?:

I need to hit the road. I have not run in 3 weeks. So this was ok I guess.
Post race
Warm down:

Just walked and hydrated. Took some Endurox

What limited your ability to perform faster:

The flu... I was coughing a lot during the run. So I just did it.

Event comments:

This race was awesome. Its a very well thought event well organized. The $25 fee with lodging (granted it was a 1950s US Air Force Military Barrack) but for 25 bucks it was Perfect.

I would like to Congratulate Mr. Jorge Cartagena for Organizing such a nice event.

The Overall winner broke the course record with 58:20.

Women Overall Winner 1:05
