Swim
Comments: Swim went pretty bad. I had to breathe every 2 strokes. It was my first OWS and it showed. I never got into a ryhthm. What would you do differently?: Train in open water. Get coaching Transition 1
Comments: For my 1st tri my transitions went very smooth. What would you do differently?: Brough a bucket to sit on. I sat on the ground to put my socks on. Bike
Comments: I felt really good on the bike the whole race. During the 1st uphill I had some trouble with gearing and lost my chain. It took me a minute to get it sorted out. It sucked getting passed by all the poeple I went by for the first few miles. I felt fast on the bike passing people the entire time. I passed way more people than I expected. I guess all the time in the trainer paid off. I heard TC117 and my family cheering for me on both laps. It was a nice boost. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Transition 2
Comments: Another good Transition. Stopped to stay hello to the family for a few seconds. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: 1st mile the legs felt heavy but it was a smooth run. I never really pushed it very hard. I just ran at a nice comfortablr pace. Some funny stuff on the way back. I saw "Run Keith Run" chalk. I didn't know it was for me but then I saw "Go BT" so I thought maybe CitySky was responsible. It put a smile on my face. Then I saw "Post a Race Report Please" and I was in a full out laugh. People were looking at me strange :) I saw TC117 before entering the chute which was cool and gave my family some high fives just before the finish. What would you do differently?: Run harder. I left a lot in the tank. Post race
Warm down: Walked around and hung out with the family. What limited your ability to perform faster: Swim training / coaching. I need to lose more weight. Event comments: Awesome race in an awesome city!! Last updated: 2006-12-27 12:00 AM

Woke up at 6:00. Ate some multi grain toast with peanut butter and a big cup of coffee. I had all my stuff packed from the night before so I doublechecked my list and loaded up the car.
I got a pretty good parking spot and rode down to transition. Got body marked and set up in a matter of minutes. Met up with a friend from work and his wife. Chatted for a while. Hit the bathroom again and ate a Clif Bar.
Ummm...walked over to the water.
