Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 4:30. Ate a bagel, couple glasses of water and a glass of cytomax. Got to the event about 5:45. Cold morning. Decided to change clothing.
Event warmup:

jogged about 1/4 mile and stretched for about 20 minutes

started off with a 8:10 first mile (always start slow) and then picked it up to between 7:45 and 8:00. Felt very good. Met first goal of beating 40:00 minutes.
What would you do differently?:

Ran in wind jacket. Started to overheat towards the end. wear something different.

need to come better prepared with clothing. spent way to much time changing shirts.

Did first loop in about an hour. HIT THE WALL around mile 22. Did not stay properly hydrated and did not eat enough. Was trying to play catch up with this stuff the rest of the way.
What would you do differently?:

More time on the bike. More water and gels or bars..

Just an extension of the bike. did not properly feed the body on the bike and it took its toll on the second run.

Awesome volunteers. Weather was rough but there were a ton of folks out there supporting the race. Look forward to doing this race again and doing better.
