Swim
Comments: I had a lot of trouble with the number of people in the water. I stopped to let people by probably 3 or 4 times. Also stopped to clear foggy goggles. Swim felt easy though. No problem with breathing. About half way through I had to tell myself to stop piddling around and race. Evidently it paid off. What would you do differently?: Nothing. I felt great in the water. I would have been faster if I'd actually trained but with a baby, what can you do? Transition 1
Comments: Pretty good transition. Was 32 out of 100. Cannot complain. I put on arm warmers but nothing else. Had to sit to get wetsuit over feet. What would you do differently?: Nothing Bike
Comments: Awesome bike. I had no idea where I was at and clearly I am in a great place. I am delighted with my ride. What would you do differently?: As with the swim, all I can do is train more. Transition 2
Comments: 23/100 Good transition. What would you do differently?: Nothing Run
Comments: This was my big surprise. I had expected to run about 1 hr 10 since my running has not been good and I thought I would go much slower off the bike. But I had an excellent run. I was able to force myself outside of my comfort zone to come in just under an hour. What would you do differently?: Train more. Post race
Warm down: None - walk around and look for husband and friends. What limited your ability to perform faster: Lack of training. I had worked pretty hard on running but because of time issues and baby starting daycare, I had trouble keeping to a training schedule. Event comments: Not a convenient race due to size and transition area restriction (had to vacate transition by 7 am and my wave didn't go until after 8 so a long time standing around in the cool morning. But the course is fantastic. I loved it and felt as though I raced it well. In fact, I did a lot better than I had expected to. Did I mention this was my first race after having the baby? He is 9.5 months old and I am proud that I was out racing - until I heard that the winning female pro had a baby 6 months ago :) Last updated: 2006-12-29 12:00 AM

Woke at 5 am. Ate banana nut muffin, woke and fed baby. Packed car and drove to race. Set up transition then waited 2 hrs for my race! Since hubby and son were with me, I stayed in sweats until about 25 min before my wave.
None.
