Run
Comments: the run started off wide open with a downhill that allowed me to get a good spot in the field. that was followed by a tough uphill that i had to push to hang on to the people i was with. the rest of the course was very rolling. the pace was all over the place, but i tried to keep a steady effort and catch a runner every 1/2 mile or so. my legs actually felt solid, but i was worried about cramping or getting too sore if i pushed any harder. i passed a 9 year old at mile 5 who was running great. i don't want to race him in 10 years! What would you do differently?: not go for a pr in a 5k the day before? Post race
Warm down: stretched and drank water while cheering on the other runners. then k and i warmed down with a 2500 yard swim and a soak in the hot tub. Event comments: this is an excellent 10k. registration was easy. the shirt isn't ugly. the prerace check-in included breakfast and a live singer/guitar player. amazing course. tons of water and food afterwards. more singer/guitar. access to showers and decent bathrooms. and best of all... chip timing! i will be putting this on the calendarfor next year.
