Run
Comments: The run went right as planned. It was a bit chilly but sunny. I was dressed about perfectly for the weather. Sugoi sub-zero tights with c9 compression shorts underneath, underarmour coldgear top with marathon shell on top. The start was nice and smooth with very little jostling. Got up to speed well and found my pace within the first 4 minutes. I had good kick left for the last .1 miles and came across the line at almost sprint pace. What would you do differently?: Given the situation I'm not sure I would have done much differently. I feel I could have run this a tad faster if the air temp hadn't been so cold or if I hadn't been getting over a respiratory thing. There isn't really anything I could do about those two things though so I feel good. Post race
Warm down: Jogged for a few minutes then cheered my buddy to the finish. Walked back to the finish and then we walked to cool down for a few more minutes. What limited your ability to perform faster: Respiratory illness still not 100% resolved. Cold air temp made deep breathing with said respiratory condition an issue. I also need to do some speedwork now that I have a decent base. Event comments: Well run and supported race. I'll be doing this one again next year. The expo afterwards was crowded and the lines were huge but overall it was a good race. Last updated: 2007-01-05 12:00 AM

Got to the race early to get parking and have plenty of time for packet pickup. Hung out around the start with my buddy till just a bit before the race and then went out for a run.
Ran .75 miles as a warmup at normal training pace. Got to the start line 3 minutes before the gun.
