Comments:

Just did not have a great swim. Distance seemed longer that 1/3, but others did well. A little choppy. I just did not pull hard enough. Raced it like an Oly I guess.
What would you do differently?:

Swim harder.
Transition 1
  • 03m 44s
Comments:

Good transition. About 1/3 mile run up the beach out of the water to transition. Made for a long transition. Did run the whole transition. Got feet on pedals well.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing really
Bike
  • 33m 36s
  • 13 miles
  • 23.21 mile/hr
What would you do differently?:

More hill repeats.
Transition 2
  • 01m 13s
Comments:

Good transition. I took my time and breathed, which I actually think sped it up. Had good transitions this race.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing
Run
  • 25m 4s
  • 3.1 miles
  • 08m 05s  min/mile
Comments:

I just need to train. Had an awesome kick at the end to pass a guy in my AG that past me. Ended up beating him by 4 seconds when I was behind him with 200 yards to go.
What would you do differently?:

I need to train, ALOT more. My run continues to be nowhere near where my ride is. Even my lousy swim crushed it. Did feel good to by so close to 8 min average, but really want to get below 7:30's.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

It was like 90 degrees with 90% humidity. Felt over 100!

Event comments:

Good race.

Course: 2 Major bridges. 1st bridge (Sand Key), had a 90 degree left turn at bottom, so you could not carry your speed down it. Some pretty rough roads through Clearwater Beach, then The Clearwater Causeway Bridge. Once I cleared the bridges and got past the turns by the bellair CC, I cruised. Spent the last 3-4 miles over 25MPH. look very forward to a nice flat FL race. Second fastest average speed ever on the second toughest course.
