Run
Comments: the run was ok, the first 5 miles were great, miles 6-10 things started to tighten up, mile 11-13.1...WOW they were hard as hell. I thought my knee was gong to fall off, calfs were burning up, and as much as my mind was telling me to run harder, my body was not responding. What would you do differently?: More training, I have never raced more than a 5k,I have done some longer distance while training. so training, training, training. Also make sure I have everything I need..MP3 player!!! Post race
Warm down: walked for about 10min. stretch, and lots of water What limited your ability to perform faster: My legs were not up for that long of run. My lungs were great, even at the end my beathing wasn't bad, but my legs were done Event comments: This was my first 1/2 mary and only my second race overall. I wish I could say it was easy, but I cant. I did set a goal of 2hrs. and meet that goal. I will have to train a lot more before I feel like I can do that long of run again. All in all I had a blast. The race seemed to be well org. and everyone was very supportive. It feels good to accomplish a goal. The only big thing I forgot was my MP3 player. That was hard to get used to, but it all worked out. I think with a lot more training I might tackle something that long later down the road, but for now I'm gona keep under 15k.
