Comments:

Well I went really wide because I hate being in the pack but it did not matter. The waves were kind of choppy and I ended up only breathing to one side. I also went way wide and out so I think I swam an extra 100m..pretty pathetic. Oh well I just focused on getting out of the water.
What would you do differently?:

Breath both sides consistently. Sight better at the beginning. Be more comfortable with the pack.

I felt pretty good during the bike. I was pushing it hard to try and make up time. I think having tri-bars would have helped somewhat but overall it was pretty good. It took me a little bit to get my feet in the shoes.

I gave it all I could on the bike so it was slow going at first. I picked it up in the last mile especially when a woman twice my age started to pass me. I think I finished well.

I had a great time...hey it was my birthday and it was a good way to start. I was very happy with my time given that I was a bad swimmer. I feel I can improve and I think I got the tri-bug during this race
