Pre-race routine:

Up around 6 AM (7:45 race start). Peanut butter on a mini-bagel, bannana, coffee. Got to the race at around 7 AM
Event warmup:

Easy jog for about 15 minutes, hit the bathroom before it got too crowded, then a little more jogging, with a few strides.

Comments:

A well-done effort on my part. Started conservatively, with a couple of 8 minute miles. Did a 30 second walk every 10 minutes, per coach's instructions. Ran within myself on the uphills, and lengthened it out on the downhills. Hit the last three miles with plenty in the tank and did the last mile in 7:08. Overall pace 7:43, and the second 5 miles were 1 minute faster than the first 5.
What would you do differently?:

I could have gone a bit quicker at the beginning, perhaps, but I hit it just about right, I think
Post race
Warm down:

Easy walking, post-race massage.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Just about my best effort at this point, I think.

Event comments:

An outstanding local race. Highly recommended.
