Pre-race routine:

Yeah, it's snowing here again. The drive to get to the race was pretty bad. The highways were awful. Can't believe we made it to the race! Saw several accidents along the way. Ovetta called along the way and said she was still going. So I decided that if O was going, then darn it, I was definitely going too.

Got to the race, got my race packet. Back to car to put on race number and stay out of the snow. Caught up with Ovetta and rmarzano (finally!).
Event warmup:

uh, I kinda skipped any warm up today. Too cold, too much snow, too much ice. And heck, I raced yesterday, so today was just about survival :)

Comments:

On the way out, I ran with Jen (numberswoman) for most of my first 2.5 miles. She was doing the 10 mile option so she kept going at my turn around.

Glad to have the MP3 player (probably illegal, but I didn't care today). HILLY darn course.

Mile 4 was WAY slow with the SUPER BIG hill. But mile 5 was 9-something.
What would you do differently?:

nothing. I wasn't expecting a great day given the conditions.
Post race
Warm down:

Shannon and Julia....you guys rock for standing out there in the darn cold and cheering me in to the finish!

Changed clothes, came back to cheer on the 10-miler peeps. Froze. Hung out with Shannon, Julia, Geli, Matt, and Jen.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

snow, ice, wind, hills. How's that? :)

I have discovered (knew already....) that hills are DEFINITELY my limiter. I'm great with downhills, but uphills, I struggle.

Event comments:

Tough conditions. But a good day nonetheless. :)
