Swim
Comments: Felt a little panicy at first. I think it was because of the excitment and that my breathing was shallow which didn't jive well with my stroke and the fact that my wetsuit felt tight around the neck. After the first leg I got into a better stride. What would you do differently?: Calm down Transition 1
Comments: Good transition thanks to Tommy for showing me the breakaway zipper which allowed me to get halfway out of the suit before I entered the T area. I was a little dizzy putting on my shoes. What would you do differently?: Practice this more so I can get faster at it. Bike
Comments: I wish I had a lighter bike. The only ones that passed me where high-end $4000 rides. It felt good though to cruise past a couple of those on my low-end Trek Equinox 7. What would you do differently?: I felt like my gearing could have been a little better. I enjoyed the ride and push pretty hard. Transition 2
Comments: One of my rack neighbors had layed their wetsuit across the rack where my bike needed to go so I had to slide it down. My left shoe didn't go on easily so that took some extra time. What would you do differently?: Nada Run
Comments: Ran pretty hard, my breathing was labored a little, but I felt like I was doing negative splits and I had enough in the tank for an all-out sprint at the end. The leg held up well and I reached my goal of a sub 7 min mile pace. What would you do differently?: Not run with a tri top; it felt hot; I would have rather been running without a shirt on. Post race
Warm down: Hold my kids and drink some water What limited your ability to perform faster: Losing my composure a little on the first leg of the swim and a slightly heavy bike. Event comments: Great race, can't wait till next year. Maybe I'll get on the podium. Last updated: 2007-01-15 12:00 AM

Woke up, ate some pancakes with syrup and a bananna, drank coffee, brushed my teeth, went boom-boom, kissed my wife and out the door
Got there early enough to not be rushed. Got marked, picked-up my chip, setup my stuff, ate an energy bar, chatted with friends, then swam 200 meters or so.
