Swim
Comments: Had trouble siteing. I have a right turning tendency so I was zig zagging a lot. Other than that, it was comfortable. What would you do differently?: gotta learn to swim straight - somehow. Transition 1
Comments: Fast transition. 6th in my AG. What would you do differently?: Don't stop to pose for a photo for my wife. Bike
Comments: Felt good most of the way. I was pushing hard for my ability. I started to feel nauseous the last 5 miles after I took a PowerGel. The one tough hill, I could not shift from my big chain ring in the front to the small. I burnt extra energy here. What would you do differently?: Check gear shifting. Transition 2
Comments: Fast transition. 20th in AG. What would you do differently?: Nothing. Run
Comments: Still felt a little nauseous. First mile was tough. 2 & 3 miles were much better. After mile 3 I started to feel like I was going to puke. I was burping a lot. I threw away my bottle of Accelerade after mile 3 and switched to water only at the aid stations. The last 5K was brutal but I pushed through it, although I was slowing. I was burping a lot. I threw up a little bit in my mouth a few times and just spit it to the side of the road and kept running. It was hot out on the run. Coming thru the finish line area in the Navy Memorial Stadium was awesome. Lots of people lining the entrance of the stadium to the 50yard line. It was cool. Post race
Warm down: I was very nauseous after I stopped. I drank Gatorade & some water but that didn't help much. I made my way to the Medical tent since I thought i was going to barf again. I sat on the bench outside the tent and was able to calm down after 10mins. My wife found me. We made our way to the concession stand and I had a LARGE Coke. That hit the spot! Felt fine after that. Went back to the finish area and watch Joe finish. What limited your ability to perform faster: - GI issues - Hot on the run Event comments: I like the race & the city of Annapolis. I'll probably do it again next year. Last updated: 2007-01-16 12:00 AM

Arrived in Annapolis late Friday afternoon. My wife & I made a weekend out of it, away from the kids.
We stayed at the Royal Folly B&B. I HIGHLY recommend.
Having 2 seperate transition areas was a bit cumbersome, but I managed.
My best friend Joe & his girlfriend came down on Saturday. Joe also did the race.
- Up at 4:30am
- Out the door by 5:00 & headed to the stadium to setup bike-run transition
- Took bus down to City Dock to finish bike setup (bikes were racked on Saturday)
- Hit Starbucks for a fruit bowl
- Just stood around and enjoyed the pre-race nervous energy - no warmup
