Total Time = 2h 19m
Overall Rank = 177/1600
Age Group = M 19-24
Age Group Rank = 6/50
Pre-race routine:

Ate a banana, drank a bottle of gatorade, touched up the transition, ate a powerbar harvest, put on the wetsuit
Event warmup:

streached, swam about 100 yards
Swim
  • 17m 42s
  • 1640 yards
  • 01m 05s / 100 yards
Comments:

Not as heavy current as i would expect, but it helped a lot none the less.
What would you do differently?:

Hit it harder. I kept the pace easy in case the swim would turn out longer than anticipated. I could have done it better. Also had some trouble getting wetsuit off the ankles.
Transition 1
  • 03m 38s
Comments:

Transition was ok. I felt light headed, so elected to sit to take off the wetsuit. Socks cost me time, but i was glad to have them because my shoes have been rubbing when i ride barefoot.
What would you do differently?:

more body glide on wetsuit ankles.
Bike
  • 1h 00m 30s
  • 24.85 miles
  • 24.64 mile/hr
Comments:

Awesome ride. Big lead pack that you couldn't break away from. I hit 35 on the downhills with them, and kept a great pace. The ride was what had me pumped. It was so much fun that i can't describe it.
What would you do differently?:

Drink more-- i was riding so close to people so much of the time, i was nervous to grab my bottle. I also need to learn to take corners faster. Every breakaway i made was countered because of my crappy cornering.
Transition 2
  • 02m 16s
Comments:

They rack your bike for you. Cool, but somewhat confusing.
What would you do differently?:

Learn the transition better. Shove stuff into my bag faster.
Run
  • 54m 55s
  • 6.21 miles
  • 08m 50s  min/mile
Comments:

Man, i got toasted. Too bad after the faster bike and average swim. I was getting passed all over the place. It's all good, though, i guess. First oly, what can i expect.
What would you do differently?:

Train to run faster.
Post race
What limited your ability to perform faster:

Being a poor runner.

Event comments:

Great atmosphere, and a fun larger race. Need more water on course. Every other mile is not enough in my opinion.
