Pre-race routine:

up early, had a bit of coffee, wan't feeling like I could eat, got to race site just after 6am, set up transition, got body marked and got timing chip, ate some of a breakfast cookie and had some water

Comments:

this was my best tri swim ever, I started easy and just kept a solid pace, my breathing and navigation were fine, I had a few swimmers from earlier waves come up on me on their second lap, but mostly I had no crowding issues
What would you do differently?:

nothing, this was a great swim for me

I am having significant problems getting my suit off my calves and heels, last 2 tris I have sat on the ground to pull it off, but I've got to get better at this
What would you do differently?:

get my wetsuit off faster, 4/5 for T1 for my group

this was a tough ride for me, the toughest course I have ridden, the first mile is a steady climb out of the park, then it's just hill after hill the whole course, I took some chances on some descents to try and make up some time, I was slow but I made it up all the hills :), unfortunately I was feeling very nauseous and was only able to eat 2 cliff shot blocks and drink a bit of water during the ride, this did not turn out well for the run
What would you do differently?:

ride more hills :), I don't think I could have ridden this course last year, so that is good improvement for me

first loop went OK, being on the trail was tricky, but it was kind of fun, lots of people passing me doing their 2nd loop and I tried to stay out of the way, my stomach was refusing food and drink and I got sick twice on the trail, 2nd lap was pure torture as I had hit the wall and my body was done
What would you do differently?:

not be sick so I could take in adequate nutrition so I could finish the race

Warm down:

I was super dizzy at the finish line, couldn't really stand or walk for a good 5 to 10 min, luckily my husband was there to help me pack up transition area and get me some food and drink when I was able to eat/drink something

Event comments:

this was a good race, I liked the small field (~250 racers), a very tough course for me, but I'm glad that I did it
