Pre-race routine:

Pretty poor routine, my 2 girls 8 and 10 decided they didnt want to compete as we were setting up their gear, spent a bit of time trying to change their minds. Managed to get a gel into me about 10m before race.

Comments:

Went out at a good pace, found some clear water to swim in and got into a good rythm, need to speed up at buoys next time to avoid hammering.
What would you do differently?:

Confident that I could go a little harder on swim, being my first sprint distance, just held a constant pace.

With confusion about girls not wanting to race, forgot to put drink bottle on bike, had Tracey hand it to me when I came out of swim.....oops!
What would you do differently?:

put water bottle on bike before transition closes would be good!!!

Comments:

Stuffed up, couldnt find my gear, after running backwards and forwards a couple of times, racked bike just anywhere and ran around to find gear, found it and moved my gear o where I racked my bike. The up side was I felt rested when I finally started the run.
What would you do differently?:

Rack my bike where my stuff is , its much quicker....

Felt good after ride, and rest in t2. First lap good, got stitch on 2nd lap, ran it off racing Paul Deady for final 750m. Great way to finish, he was in of my category, we picked up the pace more and more until sprint at final 100m, but he got me, no matter, happy with run.
What would you do differently?:

Not drink so much before run

Warm down:

1km slow jog and stretches, lots of gatorade, oranges and watermelon.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Fitness and speed!!!!!!!!haha

Great day out, Silver streak also did 1st sprint distance this day, and did well, the benchmark has been set for robina now, so best I keep training.

Course: flat fast course, averaged 35.9km/hr on bike, put 3 pieces of white tape on handle bars to match laps to be done, ripped one off each passing of start, worked well, had a gel on start of final 5km lap. Need to work more on spinning.
