Run
Comments: It went OK considering. The foot pain went away after a mile (but came back after the finish). I felt fine through the first 4 miles. Mile 5 started to be rough. Mile 6+ was pretty darn painful. No runner's trots, which had been worrying me. I did at least beat my time last year by ~2.5 min, and get in under an 11 min mile. So I'm happy about that (even though I know I could have done better and not be in so much pain today). Oh, and this is probably the first time ever my 2nd mile has been my best one! Usually it's my slowest. I guess that reflects the training lack. What would you do differently?: Train! haha. (Richard trained, but generally only ran 3 miles. Sure enough, he ran into trouble at 3.5 miles. So training should include race distance!) Post race
Warm down: Water! Kept walking Then found Richard and sat down. Eventually got bagels and stretched. I was really beat. What limited your ability to perform faster: I didn't really train! I could have done much better if I had (based on my 8k performance in the fall). Event comments: The best thing about this race is all the people who come out to cheer on the runners and are along the ENTIRE course. Cheerleading clubs, bands, residents with hoses sprinkling runners, etc. It's way fun. Last updated: 2007-01-22 12:00 AM

Didn't follow much routine this time. Carpooled w/friends who were walking with ther 7-mo-old. Had toast and a bannana and tea.
Didn't really warm up. Stretched a little. Rubbed my right foot, which has been bothering me with probably plantar fascitis. Rubbed my back which hurt on the left. Guess I slept funny.
