Pre-race routine:

This was a "surprise" race as I met some friends the night before who talked me in to running it. I slept great and got up around 5:00. Breakfast was Granola cereal and Gatorade. I met up with my friends at my house and we left around 5:30
Event warmup:

Jogged for a few minutes just to get loose. Got herded like cattle to the starting line.

Comments:

Not too bad of a run, as it was still early in my run training. It was a perfect day for a run, and it was my first official 5k since I started running again. I felt great on the run and managed to sprint the last 100 feet or so.
What would you do differently?:

Nothing.
Post race
Warm down:

Got the free medal, water, food, etc. and then just hung out for a while. One of our friends was running the 1/2 marathon race, so we were waiting for her to finish. Did some light stretching while waiting.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not enough training up to this point.

Event comments:

A great race! In 2007 they're changing the 12k in to a 10k, so now there is a 5k, 10k, and a 1/2 marathon. It was a little warm outside as it was June in Missouri, and a little humid, but it was fun.
