Comments:

The day was cold, I did not warm up until almost the end of the race. I felt I paced the hills well, considering I'm a flatlander. I ran a strong race and am pleased with the results

train for hills and run faster

Event comments:

This was an inaugural event. About 900 in attendance 600 in the 1/2 marathon. The route was great with not an excessive amount of hills. The post race food and drink were excellent

Course: the first 3-4 miles were rolling hills with an elevation gain of about 500 ft. Then the course meandered along he Rio Grande then made way back to town, the border, and the finish line
