Comments: First half of the race went well. I felt pretty strong. Hit the turn around at 55:47 with hopes of negative splitting. That did not happen around mile 10 my calves tightened up and then I hit the hills. So I just tried to hang on to finish without walking. What would you do differently?: Train More !!! Post race
Warm down: Just grabbed some food and headed for the car with a HEATER!! Couldn’t wait to get home to a hot shower. My legs hurt more after this race than any race I have ever done. What limited your ability to perform faster: My training was interrupted a few weeks before the race, so my confidence was low and so were my training miles. I also have a million more excuses but I won’t take up space here listing them all. Had a goal time of 1:45 but just did not have the training miles needed Event comments: This was my second year doing this race. Not the most scenic course but I am usually just staring off into space anyway. A couple of good hills toward the end of the race to really make you push it to the finish. Woke up early to get some food in my system. I never sleep good the night before a race.
Not much warmup, just kept moving around to try and stay warm.
