Swim
Comments: This is my 2nd season doing triathlons and I'm still getting adjusted to the open water swimming which feels totally different than pool swimming. I was just focused on trying to keep my breathing relaxed and not have a panic attack. Goal accomplished! What would you do differently?: I need to get more open water practice time in my schedule. I swim breathing on alternate sides in the pool, but in the races, I breathe every stroke on one side. I need to practice more in the environment that I'm going to race. Transition 1
Comments: I don't know what I was thinking here . . .apparently by my time . . .quite a bit!! I put my helmet on before I put my t-shirt on...that's about all I remember. What would you do differently?: When I get out of the water I need to start thinking about the transition - not when I get to my stuff. Need to think clearer and get that time much lower. Bike
Comments: I was happy with my first lap . . . then I start to zone. I think I can improve this time. What would you do differently?: I need to get on the bike more for longer rides and stay focused at a higher race intensity. Transition 2
Comments: 3 minutes plus . . . always room for improvement! What would you do differently?: look into no-tie laces and read up on other ways to improve transition times. Run
Comments: Nice run course - no major hills. :-) What would you do differently?: I need to push it a little more on the run - in races and in training. I'm going to have to add some track work outs to get some more speed . . . I've got to stop "jogging" and "run" . . . it's the end of the race . . .I shouldn't be saving anything. Post race
Warm down: Stretch / gatorade / banana / hour wait in line to pick up items in transition area What limited your ability to perform faster: Me. Event comments: I really enjoy this race - there's a good crowd and community support on the course to make it a cool work out! :-) Last updated: 2007-01-26 12:00 AM

Woke up at 4:44 . . Bowl of cereal, half of a banana, grape juice . . . quick shower to really wake up for the drive . . .woke up the dog for a quick walk . . .hit the road!
Parked at the high school shortly after 6am, pumped up tires, and headed over to transition. Should have arrived about 15 minutes earlier, but timing was ok.
Just relaxed on the grass and stretched. Visualized no panic attacks while swimming . . . :-)
