Run
Comments: Well since I did not warm up very well, I just decided to take the first 20 minutes at an easy pace that was pretty much my warm up. It was hot...I mean VERY HOT day and humid. The first 5 Ks whent by pretty quick. stopped at every Oasis to hydrate and keep cool. Did I mention that it was very hot? By 8 Ks the pain on my left foot started to make a comeback. I just pushed on through. I saw the 9 KM sign and picked up the pace. I passed the guy holding the 60:00 minute pace sign. My goal was to run it in less than an hour. I finished strong sprinted the last 200 m. I felt great. What would you do differently?: Get there earlier. and warm up properly Post race
Warm down: Just walked, hydrated (gatorade and water) and also fruits. What limited your ability to perform faster: I know that If I would've spent some time warming up maybe my time could have been better. Event comments: Very well organized event. A lot of drink stations. Maybe too many. But with the heat today I think it was the right move by the organizers. Great race. I'm very happy, after 4 months of training I ran my first 10K ever. I achieved my goal of running it in less than 1 hr. Coming from 200 lbs to 156 lbs today and seeing what I have accomplished in these last few months I am very proud of myself. My wife Olga was there for moral support. She says she wants to run it next year. We'll see ;-) I want to keep going... and I will. Last updated: 2007-01-26 12:00 AM

Just did a lot of Carb loading on Saturday and rested. Watched some fights on HBO then slept. Woke up ate cereal with bananas and soy milk.
Kept hydrating during the day.
There was very little time to warm up we got there pretty late. One of the athletes I represent decided to join me, so I was not alone. It was great having him there.
