Pre-race routine:

Light stretching
Swim
  • 33m 55s
  • 2112 yards
  • 01m 37s / 100 yards
Comments:

Felt really good.
What would you do differently?:

I have issue swimming in the pool with a seriously stuffed nose after swimming. About a week ago I got nose clips to try. I forgot them the one day I swam since so the race was my first chance to try them out. Went about 100 yds and said to hell with these and stuffed them in my pant leg... Never saw them again. Somewhere there is a fish in the Choptank river with a new pair of nose clips on.
Transition 1
  • 04m 1s
Comments:

I tried tyo go fast but not rush so i would forget something. Had a plan for nutrition and didn't want to screw it up. could have been faster but I believe it was well worth the slow transition. Still faster than last year.
What would you do differently?:

Practice more so I can go a little faster.
Bike
  • 2h 37m 39s
  • 56 miles
  • 21.31 mile/hr
Comments:

First race on the new bike. no mechanical issues and no issues for me either.
What would you do differently?:

More time in the saddle in training
Transition 2
  • 02m 7s
Comments:

Good transition. Much less to worry about. Remove bike stuff, put on sneaks hat and grab the one bottle for the run.
Run
  • 1h 54m 4s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 08m 43s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt really really good decided to push it a bit. I took it pretty easy for about 1 mile while I pumped some blood around to the other muscles in my legs. Once that happened I felt good enough to pick it up. I started running and I meet up to a guy named Mike. We got talking and he is from lansdale. I couldn't believe it what were the odds? Anyway we ran together for a while until I dropped him. Just kept feeling good so i kept running fast (for me anyway)
What would you do differently?:

Nothing. Just keep training.
Post race
Warm down:

Stretching. Walking around. Couldn't believe how good i felt. Such a different experience from last year. Cut 57 minutes off the time!

Event comments:

Had a great time. Outstanding event at all levels. lots of enthusiastic volunteer and community involvement.
I got my picture taken with Desiree Ficker. (She is a goddess in my world)
Just an outstanding day. I'll try and post a few pix.
