I can't objectively say my new disc helped, but I am sure that it gave me something.

There were three of us battling for position on the bike leg. All of us were in the same AG and knew we were the leaders. I was ran off the trail back to the TA through the park by one of the fellows. He faded left as he was unstrapping his shoes and I had to hit the grass to avoid a collision as I was passing.

The rider that ran me off the trail on the bike pulled way ahead after transition. I caught the second fellow in the second mile and made a conscious effort to stay ahead.

Warm down:

Walked around. Found the family. Briefly exchanged pleasantries with the BT group. (Sorry I didn't seem social, but my family made a rare appearance and they take priority).

I am extremely happy with my performance today! I don't know how I can have a crappy 5k one weekend, and the next have a PR bike and a decent run!

Excellent race! Great and well informed volunteers. I hope I can do this race again.
