A bit of a drag - I was running late so I had to sprint on my bike for about 40 blocks (from 34th St to the start). That no doubt fried my legs some...

I think I tend to ride in too high a gear. When I worked to keep my cadence at around 100 rpms instead of my usual 85-90 it seemed to work out better.

In general, I need to practice bike speed, not just endurance.

We left quickly - it was cloudy and chilly and starting to rain.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

That I had to ride from 34th st to the race start at something like race pace...Must leave earlier in for future races - say 6AM or so...
