Pre-race routine:

Ate on the way down to the race site. Drove down to DC with Brad, Tim, Laura and Ron. Snuck in a side entrance to RFK and parked next to Doug(his first marathon).
Event warmup:

Hung out around car and hit the port-o-pottie once or twice. Chatted with friends. Walked to the start at around 6:45.
Run
  • 2h 14m 35s
  • 13.1 miles
  • 10m 16s  min/mile
Comments:

Ran with Ron for all but the last half mile or so. Felt solid without any major pains.

What would you do differently?:

Nothing. I ran with my water bottle and stuck to my nutrition plan of earing every :30 minutes.
My stretch goal time was 2:10 with my realistic goal of 2:20 (which I was able to beat).

Post race
Warm down:

Found our group, grabbed some food and headed to the car.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Nothing...the weather turned out to be great! Overcast with a little mist.

Event comments:

Race was fairly organized and course was interesting. There weren't many port-o-potties on the course (I only saw two) which caused me to find a spot behind a stone building on Constitution Avenue.
Course ended up being .24 miles long which sucked when you're pushing it at the end.
Overall, a good race and a training run for our group. Regardless, exceeded my realistic goal time of 2:20.
