Overall Rank = 107/671
Age Group = 30-34
Age Group Rank = 25/94
Pre-race routine:

Ate a clif bar a couple hours before the race. Forgot allergy medicine.
Event warmup:

none
Swim
  • 17m 32s
  • 750 meters
  • 02m 20s / 100 meters
Comments:

I liked the in the water start. I felt better than usual starting, but still had some panic and started breastroking in the back and far away from the buoyed line. Collected myself just before halfway and the rest was decent swimming with good enough navigation with the goal of staying away from people.
What would you do differently?:

Not panic?
Transition 1
  • 01m 51s
Comments:

Obviously not quick, but everything worked out well for me. No nausea.
What would you do differently?:

I chose the furthest place on the rack from the pathway through transition. I suppose I could have moved my bike in a bit, but then again I liked that I had enough space for my stuff and nobody kicked it all over the place.
Bike
  • 52m 28s
  • 17 miles
  • 19.44 mile/hr
Comments:

Glad I got to ride hard. My legs didn't cramp much. Felt fatigue in muscles towards end.
What would you do differently?:

nothing
Transition 2
  • 01m 10s
What would you do differently?:

There isn't much to change short of jumping off bike, but really need different pedals and not on paved dismount area. Stretching on the jog might help for the run, but would waste time. Just keep practicing bricks.
Run
  • 23m 56s
  • 3.11 miles
  • 07m 42s  min/mile
Comments:

Felt really tight. Had to walk after first mile for about 20 seconds to work out a side stitch. Side contined to bother me throughout run. Last mile felt looser.
What would you do differently?:

I can't tell if I need to drink more or less. Tried drinking more on bike this race. Perhaps bring water, as well as electrolyte drink on bike?
Post race
Warm down:

Walk/jog 1/2 mile.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Mental issues with swim. Need to figure out nutrition pre-race and during race.

Event comments:

I had a great time in Philly and the race was a lot of fun. I would recommend this race and would make the trip again.
