Pre-race routine:

ate bowl of steel cut irish oatmeal, drank some water and gatorade, ate 1 pack of sport beans. Set up transition.
Event warmup:

5 min jog, walked back to car with Shaved_Wookie for the towel I forgot, jumped in the water and swam about 1 min.

The course had to be short, I am not that good of a swimmer. I wasn't far back from the lead though so it was a pretty good swim. Got in there and jostled around again. The first buoy was pretty hectic, the second buoy had a lane open up just as I got there and I shot through it. It was kind of hard to sight with so many people so tight together, but not too bad.
What would you do differently?:

More swim training.

Need to work on getting shoes on a little more, nothing major. Did pretty good overall. In and out quick, jumped on bike and got up to speed and then put on shoes. T1 and T2 were combined in bike time. 2:06 total .

practice a little more getting shoes on when feet dirty.

Pretty good ride. Time includes both T1 and T2 my computer said 32:40 19 mph avg. There is one nice hill at the turn around and I was all screwed up going up it, dropped my cadence too low and was hurting. Thankfully there was a nice descent to recover. I really need to get into suffering more!

More suffering, need to push harder on the bike!

They lengthend the run from previous years. I felt a little burnt at the beginining but pretty good the second half. Once again I really need to suffer and push myself harder.

Warm down:

walked around with my son and drank water and a smoothie and ate some bread.

What limited your ability to perform faster:

Not pushing myself hard enough. I felt pretty good and I know I had more in the tank. Just need to get stronger mentally.

Event comments:

Fun race, this was my third year. I would highly recommend it. Great atmosphere!
