Swim
Comments: Grabbed the timing bad off Damon's ankle, attached it to mine and ran to the beach. 200m + ? It was choppier than I had anticipated. I didn't feel that strong in the water and I couldn't find anyone going at a decent pace to draft off. Coming in with the waves was alright though, even if my navigation was a bit off. What would you do differently?: I'd say T1 is included in this time. Still I'm slightly disappointed in this time and apart from more bay swimming there's probably little I could have done. Transition 1
Bike
Comments: T2 must be included in this time, because the time on my bike computer was at least 2 minutes faster. I was averaging 38km/hr away from the race and closer to 28/29km/hr on the way back. I could feel my legs burning, but decided it was only 10km and worth pushing it. There were a lot of people on the course, many who failed to keep left. The dismount line was a shambles (and came up way too quickly) and one had to take much care. The run to the transition was loooong! What would you do differently?: Know where the bike leg ends! Transition 2
Run
Comments: I could not be happier!! That's a really good time for me. I passed more than the two usual people!! What would you do differently?: This is the fastest I've ever run! Post race
Warm down: I caught up with a couple of people and then cheered James on as he came into transition and then down the finishing shoot. What limited your ability to perform faster: Hmm, the conditions were different to how we've been racing prior. While it wasn't excessively hot, the bay was more like a washing machine than I've seen it in a while and the wind on the bike was stronger than we've had it before. Event comments: I guess, given the awesome talent of my two team mates, I shouldn't be surprised that we finished 1st in the engineering category and 31st overall. I'm a little ashamed that they couldn't have got someone faster. Last updated: 2007-02-12 12:00 AM

The BRW Tri consists of teams of three, who all go out and do the course individually using the timing band as a "baton". I raced with two very fast individuals. One of who is a very successful AG competitor.
I got up at a ridiculous hour, had a honey sandwich and meant to pack a banana for later but I realised I left it at home.
I walked down to the course after putting our bikes in transition on Saturday afternoon. Given I was the second person to race, my warmup was non existent. Or more so, it was the run from the team transition area down to the beach to start my swim. Thankfully the bay was pretty warm.
