Pre-race routine:

Woke up at 6am and got to the race site around 7:45am.
Event warmup:

Setup my transition and jogged for a bit.

Overall the swim went about as I had thought. I had hoped to go a little faster. I think I got afraid to go out too fast and fall apart on the last couple of laps. I can tell I don't practice swimming under lane ropes because 3 different times I came up at the wrong point and hit my head on the lane rope.

I was having a good bike for the first half of the course. Then the vehicle traffic became an issue. Twice I had to make my way by cars that were stopped at intersections. Then on one stretch of road a car was turning left and another car was behind that car and then me. Well there was no room to go by on the right shoulder so I had to stop to wait for the car to turn off the road. Coming down the final hill before making a right onto the road the aquatic center was on I decided to switch to the big chain ring. Bad decision. No tension on the chain so off comes the chain. I coast as far as possible then I had to jump off and put the chain back on. Where I stopped was on an incline so it took a while to get my speed back up.

Coming to the second lap turn around I was by myself and didn't realize what the volunteer was saying so I ran past the turnaround. Finally a spectator let me know I had gone to far. I guess the volunteer wasn't paying too much attention either.
What would you do differently?:

Not run the extra distance.

Well I left room for improvement out on the course. Not my best race but it was enjoyable none the less. Hopefully next time I will be able to get together with some of the other bt people.
