Swim
Comments: this was a revers tri so the swim was last. there were no transition splits so i suspect this includes t2. i am not the fastest swimmer, but i had a fast t2 and sprinted the entire way to the pool doors which accounts for my fast swim placing. i was able to pass a few people and got passed by 1 guy i was trading places with on the bike. i could definitely tell i was tiring. What would you do differently?: focus and swim steadier. i should have been able to go at a steady pace for less than minutes of swimming. Transition 1
Comments: t1 was run to bike. i didn't wear socks, but i did put my bike shoes on in t1. What would you do differently?: nothing. Bike
Comments: i think bike time includes t1. my computer had my pace at 20.1mph, which i was very pleased with. legs felt heavy but it was fun to push it on the bike knowing it was so short and i didn't have to run. What would you do differently?: nothing Transition 2
Comments: bike to swim transition. took shoes off on bike so i only had to dump helmet and grab goggles. What would you do differently?: nothing Run
Comments: i believe course was short. i rode it to cool down after the race and bike listed it as 1.275. that would put my pace just under 6:00/miles. even though it was vert short, it was still the first time i ever averaged that for a whole race. i did the entire run with another guy in my wave. i felt strong enough, but i could tell my legs were tired from the 20 miler the day before. i wanteed to push more, but was afraid of what that would do to the bike. i definitely prefer running last. What would you do differently?: nothing. Post race
Warm down: cheered on the other swimmers and watched ron and k battle it out in the pool. it was fun to watch the race end in the pool. rode the run course and stretched What limited your ability to perform faster: 20 miler the day before. Event comments: the tr-it-now races are always fun and they are easy to get to with plenty of parking. my only issues would be that they never start on time and with no chip timing it takes forever to get the results. i would recommend it for anyone looking to try ou tthe sport or just have a fun day though.
